Note to Self, Official Chat, Community search, and more

A roundup of account-encrypted notes, the verified Buzzio announcements chat, public Community discovery, hashtags, privacy notices, and bot file support.

Several shipped features now have complete public documentation.

Note to Self

Save text and supported media for your own account. Cloud content is encrypted on-device with a key derived from your account seed; there is no extra recovery key. How Note to Self works

Official Buzzio Chat

The verified, read-only Buzzio conversation carries product announcements. It is muted by default, and users cannot reply. Anything else claiming to be Buzzio staff is not that official chat. How to recognize it

Community discovery

Community owners can choose a unique @handle and enable public discovery. Public Communities can appear in global search; private Communities stay out of the public directory.

Search and protected chats

  • Hashtag search works in supported conversations and feeds.
  • Hidden or locked chats can use normal alerts, a generic New message alert, or silent notifications.
  • Sealed and shared surfaces now display clearer in-chat privacy notices.

Bots

Users can send supported files to bots (currently up to 2 MB). Buzzio may store those inbound files for about 7 days so the bot can fetch them. Bot chats are not E2E, and bot premium is not offered.
